Hopple Suggestions
YOU CAN NOT MEASURE PROTECTO HOPPLES LIKE YOU
MEASURE YOUR OTHER HOPPLES. PROTECTO’S
ARE DESIGNED WITH MORE GIVE; THEREFORE YOU PROBABLY NEED TO MAKE THEM 1 TO 2 INCHES SHORTER
THAN YOUR OLD ONES. (Example- If your old hopples
are set for 60”, you will want to set Protecto’s at 58” or 59” .)
1 – Year Warranty does not cover damage from the use of D.M.S.O. When the Protecto Man – Al Terwilliger – started to
design his new hopples, he said that we should throw away the Rule book on
Hopples. Even though they have been
making hopples for over 100 years, this doesn’t mean they are correct. Al started this design over 4 years ago,
testing and testing until he got it right.
You’re going to discover Protecto’s Hopples act differently than your
old style hopples. They will ride better
and move much easier. The materials are
going to be stronger than anything you have used. Al believes the Hopples will outlast anything
on the market and will wear & tear like the Protecto Knee Boots. Out of the many people who have tested Protecto’s new
Hopples, at first a few thought they would React exactly like the old style
hopples and it bothered them that the new Hopples didn’t react like their old style Hopples. I asked them to use them for a couple of
weeks and make sure you keep the hopples very clean. They came back and said you’re right; these
hopples ride better and react better with the horse. Clean Hopples and if you must use Powder… use Corn
Starch.. it is better and
smoother than Powder. If you must
use Oil, Use only Mineral Oil and not Baby Oil. Do not put Oil on the Hopples,
just rub into horse’s hair on legs.

Frequently Asked Questions about Protecto Hopples
Q.Why is the Center Strap’s Stainless Steel Buckle turned upside down?
A. Turning the Stainless Steel Buckle downwards does a couple of good things.
1. It allows the Center Straps not to twist or rotate sideways thus eliminating the hopples from swaying.
2. It keeps the Hopples going straight forward and backwards.
Once you try it, you will agree the hopples do ride better.
Q. Why are there little holes on the bottom of the Hopples?
A. Those little holes are there only for holding the Hopple into our molds while we Inject plastic into the Hopples. The holes are sealed so no water can get into the Hopples. Since the holes are on the bottom, they will never touch the horse.
